Son of George Henry and Mary Boyce, of Prestwich, Lancashire (Source : C.W.G.C.).

Registered on the Roll of South Africans who fell 1914-1918 edited after the War by the South African authorities.

Died of wounds on the 12th September 1916. The 2nd K.R.R.C. (2nd Brigade, 1st Division) was in action at High Wood from 31st August to 10th september with, notably, an attack on Wood Lane on the 9th September.
